About the Item
Oceanic themed coral reef inspired ceramic sculpture hanging wall piece that is, clean, minimal, white with green, coral pink, pale blue and orange. The work is created in three parts that each hang from an attached wire on a nail or hook. The three pieces rest within each other. Easy to install. Overall dimension is 76 inches tall x 6 inches wide x 4 1/2 inched deep. A beautiful and tactile work of art from Pop Art pioneer Jane B. Grimm, whose artistic career began in the 1960’s, when her free-form sculptural jewelry exploded onto the fashion scene in NYC. Her designs spoke to a new generation well into the 1970's, when they were regularly featured in, and graced the covers of Harper's Bazaar and Vogue magazines. In the 1980's, Grimm shifted her focus to clay, while she earned her MFA from the California College of Arts and Crafts, from which she graduated with high distinction. Grimm's contemporary ceramic sculptures, created entirely by hand with a low-fire method, have premiered in galleries around the world and are included in prestigious private and museum collections. This sculpture can hang in full light and is also suited to moisture, as in a bathroom. A wonderful work by Jane B. Grimm.
